9LE  Services Term 1                     

Issue: We need to make Grey High an even better place in some way- being of service to the Grey High Community.

While doing this we will also increase our learning and skills in Technology.

You will work as an individual or a group of up to 4 people to identify an issue, opportunity or need at Grey High or in the wider community. You will need to identify your Stakeholders and interview them to create a brief and then create a product or service that meets their need.

You will need to research, plan and document your project and keep a learning log of what you do each day to reach your goal.

You need to present your proposal to your teacher by the end of week 3 for approval before you can start your project.

You will need to complete a budget, timeline, identify the skills, tool and materials you need and any Health and Safety considerations as part of your proposal.

Year 8 Challenges 2016

Week 2 Term 3

This week I have finally I got my head around fractions and Improper fractions to mixed numbers .

I am enjoying The Element. It's changed my school life from boring to "I want to get up in the morning". It gets me away school work and it's good to be alone, in the nice and quiet.

I am slowly getting faster in the run. I am trying to get my fitness up. Here is my graph:

When we finally got there the instructors told us to get into a circle so they talk about what is going to hopping today we got told to go get a sea kayak but when I went for a kayak there were all taken so I went for a double kayak then cam came along to get A kayak so we had a Hatch each that took almost 30 minutes to pack all of your stuff into the Kayak. The most challenging part was putting up the tent and taking it down again. This was because my teammates weren't so, I would say, organised as such. Next time, at the tramp my team should have more experience putting up a tent. Staying overnight put me out of my comfort zone but it was just fun to be out. It felt free to be on water instead of land. I'm looking forward to skiing because I've never been skiing and it will be a nice experience.
